An injection-molded plastic kit of the Polish light tank 7TP in its single turret form in 1:35 scale. The Polish maker IBG Models issues it as a limited edition, in which the basic kit tends to come with extra accessories, for example a metal gun barrel and crew figures. Check the exact contents of this release on the packaging. The kit belongs among modern, finely tooled models with photo-etched parts.
The 7TP was a Polish light tank of the 1930s based on the license-built British Vickers E, but with a number of modifications of its own. The most important was the diesel power unit — the 7TP was one of the first production tanks in Europe with a diesel engine — and thicker armor. The single turret version carried a 37 mm Bofors anti-tank gun and a coaxial machine gun in a rotating turret and made up the majority of the vehicles built. The 7TP tanks saw action in September 1939.
With military vehicles, first finish the running gear and any interior, and only then close the hull — the end rollers and the suspension mounts are out of reach later. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer to the plastic and paint with an airbrush. Build up the characteristic Polish prewar camouflage in layers; complete the weathering with a dark wash in the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear and the lower hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
