Turned armament for the Soviet experimental KV-7 in 1:35 scale from Aber. The box holds two 76 mm barrels and two 45 mm barrels.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of turned metal barrels in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Aber for a model of the Soviet experimental KV-7 self-propelled gun. It holds two 76 mm barrels and two 45 mm barrels, that is the parts covering the multiple-gun layout of this design. It is not a model of the vehicle but a detail accessory for a plastic kit.
The KV-7 was a Soviet attempt at a self-propelled gun on the chassis of the KV heavy tank, in which several guns mounted side by side in a fixed fighting superstructure were tested. The aim was to raise firepower without having to build a rotating turret. Several layouts were tried, among them a 76 mm gun combined with a pair of smaller 45 mm guns and also a variant with two 76 mm guns. The machine never reached series production and remained a prototype, but its unusual look makes it a rewarding subject for modelers.
Before gluing, make up your mind which arrangement of the armament you are building, so that the number and placing of the barrels match the variant you have chosen. Cut off the plastic barrels and open the holes out to the diameter of the metal pins. On barrels mounted side by side, check dry that they are parallel, otherwise any mismatch shows at once. Degrease the metal, glue it with cyanoacrylate glue and use a primer for metals.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
