A set of turned metal barrels in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Aber for a model of the Soviet T-44M medium tank. It holds one barrel for the 85 mm ZiS-S-53 gun and one barrel for the 7.62 mm DTM machine gun. This is not a model of the vehicle but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic armament parts on a finished kit and brings a hollow muzzle and a profile with no parting line.
The T-44 was a Soviet medium tank that followed on from the T-34 but with a reworked hull layout and a transversely mounted engine, which lowered the silhouette of the vehicle. The T-44M version came from a postwar modernization that extended the service of these vehicles in the second line and with training units. The 85 mm ZiS-S-53 gun was widespread armament on Soviet medium tanks at the time, backed by a 7.62 mm machine gun.
Cut off both the gun barrel and the machine gun barrel and open the holes out to the diameter of the metal pins. Check the axis of the barrel against the turret dry. Degrease the metal, glue it with cyanoacrylate glue and use a primer for metal surfaces. Postwar Soviet vehicles are usually painted in a single green shade, which takes edge highlighting with a dry brush well, plus fine dust on the lower part of the vehicle.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
