Plastic kit of the Bergepanther Ausf.G with a full interior in 1:35 scale from Takom, the German recovery vehicle on the chassis of the Panther tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the German Bergepanther Ausf.G recovery vehicle in 1:35 scale from Takom, in the version with a full interior. The model captures not only the external shapes but also a finely rendered inside of the hull with the winch, the engine and the working equipment, so part of the structure can be left open.
The Bergepanther was a German tracked recovery vehicle of the Second World War derived from the chassis of the Panther medium tank. It came about from the need to tow heavy tanks that weaker tractors could not handle. The vehicle carried a powerful winch, a folding rear spade to anchor it while towing, and working equipment. The version based on the Ausf.G belonged to the later production forms. With no turret and a roomy superstructure it gave the crew space for tools and recovery equipment; its use was crucial to keeping expensive and troublesome tanks running.
Build and paint the full interior in stages, because once the hull is closed the inner parts are no longer accessible. Paint the winch, the engine and the inside first, add washes in the detail and traces of use, and only then close the hull, or leave a panel open for a view inside. Finish the outside with a late German camouflage and weathering using washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
