This injection-molded plastic kit from the Taiwanese maker AFV Club captures the 40 mm Bofors automatic anti-aircraft gun in 1:35 scale. The model is made up of plastic parts complemented by photo-etched and metal items and faithfully reproduces the barrel, the breech, the gunners' seats and the wheeled transport carriage. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Bofors gun of 40 mm caliber came about in Sweden and became one of the most widespread anti-aircraft guns of the Second World War. Dozens of armies on both sides of the conflict used it, and so did many long after the war. It destroyed low-flying aircraft effectively and proved itself in ground fire as well.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting, spray the shades with an airbrush and draw in the fine detail of the breech and the sights with a brush. A wash into the recesses and dry-brushed paint on the edges will deepen the weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
