The 1:35 Carro Armato L6/40 wheel masking set from the Quickwheel company covers the disk of a road wheel, so that you spray the rubber separately and without drawing around with a brush. The cut-outs are cut for the wheels from the kit of the Italeri company.

The set holds self-adhesive masks in the shape of a disk, not parts of a model. They are applied to the middle of a road wheel and during spraying they separate the rubber from the metal part. The edge between the colors is determined by the cut, not by the steadiness of the hand. The set is prepared for the wheels from the kit of the Italeri company.
Lining a mask up on a disk is work to the millimeter, and anyone who masks under a single ceiling light is making it needlessly hard. Diffuse light from above creates no shadow on a small wheel, so it is not apparent where exactly the offset of the disk ends and the rubber begins, and the mask is easily applied off center. A lamp set low and to the side helps: side lighting draws the margin of the disk as a thin shadow line, by which the mask can be laid on exactly. The color of the light plays a role as well; a cooler, white light around the daylight shade shows the edge more sharply than a warm bulb. And verify one thing always: what looks concentric under a lamp from one side, turn by ninety degrees and check again, as a slight offset is visible only when the direction of the light changes.
While applying, turn the wheel in your fingers or in a holder and lay the mask on dry until it fits. Press it down with a toothpick around the whole perimeter. Apply the paint onto the rubber thinly and let it set before lifting the mask.
The package holds masking masks, not parts of a model. Paints, thinners and glue are not included in the delivery.
