A set of workable tracks from Friulmodel in 1:35 scale for the British main battle tank Challenger 2, the early track type. The tracks are cast in white metal and consist of individual links joined by a thin wire running through the pin holes. The resulting run stays workable, follows the sag over the road wheels convincingly and, by its weight, gives the model a realism that neither plastic nor rubber kit tracks can offer. It is not a vehicle kit but a detailed replacement of the tracks.
The Challenger 2 is a British main battle tank introduced in the 1990s that forms the backbone of the armored forces of the British army. It is valued for its heavy armor and its accurate 120 mm gun. The early track type designation refers to the track pattern used on earlier machines.
Clean any flash off the links, assemble them on the wires and trim the excess wire with cutters. The joints can be secured with a drop of super glue. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a base color suitable for metal; metal tracks hold weathering, washes and pigments for mud and dust effects excellently.
