A resin detail part in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Elefant. It is not a vehicle kit but a standalone accessory intended to be substituted for the simplified plastic molding. The crosswind sensor is an external probe that on the upgraded M60 versions supplemented the fire control system. This is the version designated as type 2; type 1 is offered by the manufacturer under a separate part number. Exactly how the two versions differ and which machines they belong to should be compared against photographs of the vehicle you are building.
Accessories of this kind are not a universal replacement. Before gluing, therefore, always remove the original plastic detail first, level the area and try the new part dry. Watch two things as you do: whether the size of the base matches and whether the part intrudes into the path of another element, for example into the space for traversing the turret or depressing the gun. If the base is slightly too large, sanding it back lightly is usually enough; where space is short it is easier to move the mounting a little further along than to rework the casting itself, which is fragile.
Wash the part in warm water with detergent because of the mold release agent and let it dry. Apply a thin primer from a spray can. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a toothpick or a pin, so that the small casting does not disappear under a drop of glue. Paint it together with the whole vehicle and at the end add a dark wash into the shadow under the probe.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
