1:35 FMG 39 / FuSE 62 D Wurzburg is a plastic kit of the legendary German gun-laying radar of the Second World War from the German maker Das Werk.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the German Wurzburg fire control radar in its D version. It is a static model of complex radar equipment with a prominent parabolic antenna, which will serve well as the main object of an air defense diorama or as a collectible piece on its own. The model is supplied as a set of plastic parts to be assembled and painted.
The Wurzburg was one of the key German radars of the Second World War. It served to track targets precisely and to direct anti-aircraft artillery and searchlights. Its characteristic feature is a rotating and tilting parabolic antenna carried on a wheeled mount. The D version brought improvements in range and reliability and was among the most widespread variants used in the German air defense system.
Join the parts with thin cement for plastic and clean the fine gates up before gluing. Assemble the moving joints of the parabolic antenna carefully, so that their geometry is preserved. We recommend a base coat of primer and spraying with an airbrush; the complex metal structure then comes to life with fine washes and drybrushing to bring out the rivets and pressings. For a striking scene it works well to set the radar into a diorama with its crew.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
