The resin set of front armor for the Israeli Shot and the British Centurion in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer ELEFANT adds a massive front armor element to a model. It is an accessory, not a tank kit.

This supplementary resin set in 1:35 scale brings the front armor part referred to in the original as the 79 mm one, intended for models of the British Centurion tank and its Israeli version, the Shot. It is not a vehicle kit but a single prominent part fitted to a finished hull. Casting in resin makes sense here, because it allows the crisp edge of the armor plate, the texture of the cast or rolled surface and the fine welds to be preserved, all of which would be wiped out in an injection mold.
The Centurion was a British tank of the postwar generation that became one of the most widespread machines of its day. Israel took these vehicles over, rebuilt them step by step and under the designation Shot kept them in service considerably longer than the original project had allowed for. Part of the modifications was work on the frontal armor protection, because the front of the hull is the most exposed part of a tank. Models of the Centurion and of its Israeli derivatives therefore often call for the front area to be reworked according to the particular period of service.
Wash the mold release agent off the casting and cut the casting block off with a fine-bladed saw. Test the fit against the hull dry; resin can be sanded to fit, but taking material away is always easier than adding it. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and the seam around the edge can be treated as a weld and suggested with a thin roll of putty worked over with a point. Apply a primer before painting. The weathering that follows is rewarding on an armor plate: a darker wash into the welds, fine chipping of the edges and finally dust or mud in the lower part.
The supplementary set is supplied unpainted and without the basic kit. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
