A small detail set in 1:35 scale for tanks of the M60 family. It contains a fuel cap rendered together with the surrounding detail - that is, not only the cover itself but also the small elements around it, which in injected plastic tend to be suggested only by shallow engraving. It is not a kit or a part of one, but a replacement detail fitted to the upper surface of the hull of a finished model.
The M60 is an American tank whose variants served for decades with a number of armies and which still appears today in upgraded forms. The upper surface of the hull is among the most visible parts of a tank model, and the tank caps on it form prominent points - they have a recessed seat, a pronounced rim and a closing mechanism. The recess in particular is a detail that a mold reproduces only with difficulty in injected plastic.
What matters most is alignment and keeping the part level. Cut the original plastic cap off and level the area so that the new part sits horizontally and its axis follows the surrounding engraving - a cap leaning or turned out of true is immediately visible on the smooth surface of the hull, however neatly it is otherwise finished. It helps to mark the spot out in pencil and to lay the part down dry first, turn it into the right position and only then apply the cyanoacrylate glue, ideally with a pin in a minimal amount. Excess glue floods the fine engraving around it, which is exactly what you are buying the set for. Wash the mold release agent off the resin beforehand. In color, match the cap to the hull, then just a dark wash into the recess and light chipping of the rim - the place where the crew refuels tends to be the most worn on the whole vehicle.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package.
