A turned barrel of the 15 cm StuH 43 howitzer for a model of the assault gun Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär of middle and late production, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sturmpanzer IV, known by the nickname Brummbär, was a German assault weapon built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. IV tank. In a low armored superstructure it carried a howitzer of 15 cm designated the StuH 43 and was to destroy fortified targets and built-up areas by direct fire at short range. The vehicle came about in several production series, which differed in the shape of the superstructure, the mounting of the weapon and the equipment; middle and late pieces received, among other things, a revised shield for the barrel.
A replacement barrel in 1:35 scale for the middle and late form of the vehicle. Turning gives the part a regular circular section and a straight axis along its whole length, so the barrel needs neither gluing together nor straightening and it stays straight even once the shield is fitted. A short barrel of a large caliber is the dominant feature on this vehicle, and on it any departure from a circle shows.
Try the seating of the barrel in the shield dry first and level any lug on the plastic part, so that the barrel points straight and does not droop. Use cyanoacrylate glue; cement for polystyrene does not hold on metal. Before painting, wash and degrease the part and start with a base coat meant for smooth surfaces, or you will peel the finish off during handling.
This is an accessory for a model. Paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
