German two-meter aerials with a ring base in 1:35 scale from Aber, three pieces. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of three metal aerials in 1:35 scale matching the German two-meter rod aerial, completed by a ring base, that is, the part by which the aerial was attached to the hull. It is not a kit but a replacement for the plastic parts. A plastic aerial is always too thick and bends or breaks at the first handling, while a metal rod is slender, straight and springy.
German armored vehicles relied on radio communication far more than the vehicles of most of their opponents, and the rod aerial on the hull is therefore a characteristic mark of theirs. The ring base damped vibration and protected the base of the aerial against damage. On some vehicles the aerial was folded down into a trough in combat, so that it would not give away their position or catch on branches.
Fit the aerial last of all, once everything else has been glued on, because as soon as it sticks out of the model it gets in the way at every further step. Drill the hole for the base accurately and check dry before gluing that the aerial stands square. Degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a primer. It is enough to paint very thinly; a thick coat on a slender rod shows at once and needlessly takes away its fineness.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
