Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German self-propelled gun built on the captured French Hotchkiss chassis, in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the open superstructure with a howitzer of 105 mm caliber set on tracked running gear. The package holds finely broken-up plastic parts and makes a fitting addition to a collection of German improvised equipment of the Second World War.
After the fall of France the German army acquired a large number of Hotchkiss light tanks, whose chassis it rebuilt into a range of roles. One of them was a self-propelled gun, on whose hull the leFH 18 field howitzer of 105 mm caliber was set in an open superstructure with no overhead protection. These improvised guns gave the artillery mobile fire support and were committed in Normandy in 1944, among other places. The real subject is characterized by the combination of a small captured chassis with a fairly large weapon.
First finish the running gear and the interior of the fighting compartment, which stays visible on an open vehicle, and paint it before closing the hull. Use thin cement for plastic, apply a primer before finishing and spray the paints with an airbrush. Filters to unify the tone, dark washes into the recesses and dust as well as mud pigments on the running gear suit German schemes well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
