A turned metal Aber 1:35 gun barrel for the 88 mm KwK 36 L/56 gun of the early Tiger I tank replaces the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal Aber gun barrel in 1:35 scale for the 88 mm KwK 36 gun with a barrel length of 56 calibers, in the version for the early vehicles of the Tiger I heavy tank. This is a detail accessory replacing the plastic barrel, not a tank kit.
The Tiger I heavy tank was committed from 1942 onwards and its main weapon was the 88 mm KwK 36 gun with a barrel length of 56 calibers, derived from the successful anti-aircraft gun of the same caliber. The combination of a powerful weapon and thick armor made the Tiger one of the most feared tanks of its day. The early and late vehicles differ in a number of details including the execution of the barrel and the muzzle brake, so choosing the right barrel matters for a credible model of an early machine. This set corresponds to the early version.
The metal barrel is fitted in place of the plastic part. Cut the plastic barrel off, level the mating surface and try the part dry first for the axis and the seating depth. Use cyanoacrylate glue or two-part epoxy, as cement for plastic has nothing to dissolve here. Degrease the metal and go over it with a primer for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Filling and sanding the parting seam and drilling out the muzzle both fall away.
This is an add-on detail set for modelers, not a kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
