An injection-molded plastic kit of the German design vehicle Entwicklungsfahrzeug E-10 in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The E-10 belonged to the Entwicklung development series and represented a design for a light tank destroyer. The vehicle remained a paper project and was never built in series; the model therefore captures its form according to surviving drawings and reconstructions. The box offers a low-silhouette hull, running gear and gun armament in a casemate arrangement.
The Entwicklung series was meant, toward the end of the Second World War, to simplify and unify German tracked vehicles into a few standardized classes. The E-10 was the lightest member - a light tank destroyer with a low silhouette, heavily sloped frontal armor and a gun in a fixed casemate, following on in concept from the proven Hetzer. An interesting feature of the design was adjustable suspension, meant to allow the vehicle to be lowered when firing from cover. Given the state of the war, the project never got beyond the development phase.
Finish and paint the running gear before closing the hull, because there is no access to it later. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and sand the joints down. The large sloped surfaces are ideal for late German camouflage applied with an airbrush; with a design vehicle the color scheme is always to some degree the builder's own. Final washes and pigments imitating dust and mud will add depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
