Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Land-Wasser-Schlepper II amphibious tracked tractor in the upgraded version, in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has a detailed hull, tracked running gear and a varied deck; depending on how the box is equipped, photo-etched parts are sometimes included. It is an unassembled and unpainted kit to be glued.
The Land-Wasser-Schlepper (LWS) was a German amphibious tracked tractor. The II version used running gear and suspension derived from the PzKpfw IV tank and carried a lightly armored superstructure with a small raised driver's cab and a flat stern. It served to tow and carry loads across water obstacles; only a few pre-production examples were built, and they were used on the Eastern Front.
Assemble the running gear and the tracks before closing the hull. With an amphibian the waterline is the key: divide the painting into the lower wet part and the dry superstructure, and suggest abrasion, algae and water marks on the hull with pigments and washes; for the effect of immersion use darker tones along the lower edge of the hull. Before gluing, clean the parts of flash and sprue remains and dry fit the individual sections first; glue with thin cement for plastic, which makes a firm, clean joint. For better paint adhesion apply a primer first and paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush. Before weathering, unify the surface with a varnish and let every layer dry thoroughly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
