An injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy KET-T recovery vehicle in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model stands on the eight-wheel MAZ-537 chassis and is a fairly large kit with a high number of parts, a cab, rubber tires and photo-etched parts. Check the exact numbers and the schemes against the instructions in the particular box.
The KET-T is a heavy recovery vehicle built on the MAZ-537 chassis, a massive eight-wheel tractor with 8x8 drive. It entered service with the Soviet army in the 1960s and serves to this day. Its task is to recover damaged, overturned, bogged-down or submerged heavy 8x8 vehicles, to carry out maintenance and to tow vehicles to repair units. The vehicle is fitted with a powerful recovery winch with a long cable and multiplies its pulling force considerably with block and tackle.
Build the chassis, the cab and the recovery body as separate subassemblies. Fit the rubber tires only once the running gear has been painted. Bring the base shade to life with modulation, emphasize the technical areas with a wash and add mud and dust pigments to the lower areas and the tires. An airbrush and liquid cement for plastic are recommended, with cyanoacrylate for the photo-etched parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
