A figure of a German sailor of the Second World War in 1:35 scale, intended for models of fast torpedo boats.
Responsibility details are not available.
Kriegsmarine was the name of the German wartime navy of the Second World War. Among its most active vessels were the fast torpedo boats designated Schnellboot, which attacked convoys in the English Channel and the North Sea after dark. The crew worked on a cramped open deck, so a figure at a gun or at the rail belongs in every scene with such a boat.
The package holds a figure of a German sailor in 1:35 scale. An adult figure works out at roughly five centimeters in this scale. The figure is supplied unpainted and is intended to be added to a model of a boat or to a scene on a quay, where it will give the build scale and a story.
Wash and degrease the figure before painting, as a fingerprint will show up under the paint as a matte patch. If it comes in several parts, sand the joints down lightly after gluing so that no ridge is left. Lay the paint on in thin coats, as a heavy coat floods the fine relief of the cloth and of the face. The face and hands are easier to paint before the figure is glued into the arrangement, while it can still be held from every side. Super glue suits the gluing.
The figure will please ship modelers and collectors who want a crew on deck and not just an empty hull. Painting a figure is a different job from painting a hull, but it needs no special equipment: a fine brush, patience and good light will do.
The package holds the figure. The model of the boat, a base, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
