A masking accessory for painting road wheels, not a kit. The set sets the boundary between the rubber tire and the disk and saves the cutting of rings out of masking tape by hand.
According to the name, the set is intended for the kits of the Leopard 2 A6 from Revell and from Italeri. Wheel masks are tied to the dimensions of a particular part, so with a kit of another brand do not count on the fit.
The ideal is to paint the wheels separately, but the situation where the running gear is already assembled is not lost – it only calls for a different procedure. The first problem is access: put the mask in place with tweezers and press it down with a toothpick, because you will not get between the wheels with a finger. The second is overspray. Spray at low pressure, close up and above all at a right angle to the wheel, not at an angle across the whole running gear; shield the hull meanwhile with a piece of cardboard, which you hold in your hand and move along the individual wheels.
The third thing is a sober decision about what to paint at all. On an assembled running gear the inner side of the wheels and the upper part of the tires tend to be covered by the track and the side skirt. If no view reaches there once it is finished, there is no point working into those places – concentrate on what will be visible and leave the rest in the color of the running gear. The last piece of advice concerns the order: on an assembled model take the mask off as soon as possible and always in a direction away from the hull, so that the pull does not end against a protruding detail. If something does get scuffed all the same, put it right with a brush – in this case that is legitimate and nobody will notice it on the finished model.
It is a masking accessory for modelers. The package holds neither a kit, wheels nor paints. Store the sheet flat and out of direct sunlight.
