A masking set for the model of the Leopard 2 tank in 1:35 scale from Tiger Model. The pre-shaped pieces replace the lengthy cutting out of adhesive tape.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Leopard 2 is a German main battle tank which from the end of the 1970s became one of the most widespread types of its category in Europe and serves in a number of armies to this day. Several forms were produced in turn, differing among other things in the shape of the turret and in add-on armor. In 1:35 scale the model is large enough for every imprecise edge of a sprayed finish to show on it.
Masking pieces for the Leopard 2 model in 1:35 scale from Tiger Model. The shapes are prepared in advance, so measuring and cutting tape out on the model itself is done away with during painting.
Apply the masks only to a finished and dry base coat, not to fresh paint. Clear the surface of dust and grease first, or the edge of the mask will not seat. Transfer the pieces with tweezers and press them down all the way around so paint cannot bleed. Spray in several thin coats rather than one heavy one and take the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off; later it peels away less easily and may tear a piece of the finish with it.
The set suits modelers building this particular kit who want a sprayed finish with sharp edges and no hand preparation of masks. Which surfaces of the model the set covers is not stated here, so compare it against your kit before ordering. Working with masks is undemanding, but it rewards patience in pressing the edges down.
The package holds masking pieces only. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
