1:35 M4A3E8 Sherman Painting Mask is a set of painting masks for spraying a model of the M4A3E8 Sherman medium tank in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SX-Art set holds self-adhesive masks for spraying a model of the M4A3E8 Sherman medium tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a set of canopy masks and it is not a kit, because the masks serve for painting a model that is already built. The actual package contents and the number of sheets are stated on the box.
The Sherman has a rounded turret and a bulky hull on which many different surfaces meet visually. Anything that is meant to repeat on both sides of the vehicle is hard to hit freehand, and the difference is immediately visible when you look at it head on. A mask gives the shape a precise outline that does not depend on a steady hand or on air pressure, and you can manage it with an ordinary airbrush without a fine nozzle.
Let the base shade cure thoroughly, preferably overnight. Degrease the surface and lay the mask on in sections; on the rounded turret a mask does not behave as it does on a flat surface, so cut it into smaller pieces and press the edges down, or warm it gently with lukewarm air so that it conforms better. If you want a sharp edge, the mask has to sit tightly on the surface; for a finer transition lift it slightly. Apply the paint in several thin passes, straight at the surface, because spraying at an angle runs under the edge. Take the masks off shortly after the paint dries, at a sharp angle. The decals come last, then a wash into the recesses, dust on the running gear and any chipped edges.
The set contains painting masks only. The model, paints and an airbrush are not included in the package.
