An add-on set of road wheels for a model of the Russian Scud missile system in 1:35 scale is meant for a kit you already own; it is not a model. The set is made by Voyager Model.

An add-on set from Voyager Model, which replaces the wheels of the base kit. The package does not hold a model or a kit; these are replacement parts for a modeler who already owns the matching kit. On a vehicle of such size the set of wheels is a more extensive item, because the carrier has a greater number of wheels and all of them are clearly visible.
The designation Scud comes from NATO terminology and stands for the Soviet tactical ballistic missiles of the R-11 and R-17 lines and their derivatives. The missiles were transported and launched from mobile carriers, thanks to which the whole system could be moved. The road wheels of the carrier are among the dominant features of the underside of the vehicle, because they are large, they repeat and they carry pronounced weathering from use in the field.
With a greater number of identical wheels it pays to work in series. Clean all the wheels up at once first, then fit them dry and check the alignment and whether the vehicle stands level. It helps to stand the model on a glass plate, where any wheel not touching down is visible straight away. Keep the wheels separate from the hull as long as possible; painting the rim and the rubber tire goes far more easily in the hand than on a finished model. Paint the rubber part dark gray, not black, and support the difference between it and the rim by bringing out the edge finely. Fit the wheels only at the very end and add the dust and mud, which are heaviest at the point of contact with the ground and fade away upward. If you are setting the model into a particular environment, match the shade of the deposit with the base of the diorama.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
