An accessory set of resin scaled-down blackout lamps of the Notek type in 1:35 scale. They are small but conspicuous parts fitted to the fender or the front part of the hull of a vehicle. In kits they tend to be molded in a simplified way, often with a solid cover and without a worked-out shade; a resin replacement allows a finer shape for the cover and the slit alike. This item is not a model or a kit but an accessory for an already purchased kit. The manufacturer is the Spanish company AMMO of Mig Jimenez.
A lamp of the Notek type is a blackout light whose cover lets only a narrow horizontal slit of light out forward toward the ground. The aim was to make it possible to drive in convoy at night without the light being visible from a distance. Besides the front lamp, the same system also used a rear convoy spacing light. On a model it is a small but immediately recognizable feature, clearly visible up close — and that is exactly why it pays to have it done finely.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and cut the casting blocks off with a sharp knife or a fine saw. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue, and with parts as small as these the gel version works well. Apply a primer before painting. The cover of the lamp is painted the same as the vehicle and the slit is brought out with a dark wash. If you want to suggest glass, the slit can be filled with a drop of clear glue or transparent varnish once the paint has dried. Finally dust the part lightly so that it fits into the overall weathering of the vehicle.
