The 1:35 Panzer IV / Flakpanzer IV – Tamiya is a Quickwheel masking set for the road wheels. A clean boundary is the base on which weathering only begins.

An accessory for painting a model, not a kit. The set sets the boundary on a wheel between the face of the wheel and the rubber tire and is cut for the kits from the Tamiya company. We state the target kit because sets for the same vehicle prepared for other kits exist as well.
A sharp boundary is not an aim in itself, it is a base for patina. On a real vehicle a road wheel is one of the dirtiest places, but dust and mud settle on it unevenly: the tire is cleaned by rubbing against the ground, while around the hub and in the recesses of the wheel the deposit holds. It is exactly this difference that is visible only when a sharp transition of two shades is readable under the dirt. Proceed, therefore, so that once the mask is off you let the paint cure, go over the wheels with a dark wash into the recesses, sprinkle a pigment by the hub and then wipe the tire gently again. Where the boundary was bled, all this effect runs together into a single gray-brown area.
For modelers of the kits mentioned who plan patina on a model and want a properly made base beneath it. It will be appreciated as well by those who build a vehicle with a large number of road wheels and do not want to block them out one by one.
Paints, thinners and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
