The set offers a figure of a pilot and a ladder with it. Both are intended for a maintenance scene, that is, for the situation where the machine is standing and the crew reaches it from outside. It is the ladder that turns this into a scene: a figure leaning on the rungs or standing beneath them gives a finished model both scale and action, which the machine on a base does not have on its own.
The accessory is drawn for the machine designated Mantis Ausf. B from the themed range Front46 and is in 1:35 scale. The figure and the ladder therefore match a model of the same scale in size. Whether your part-built version matches the Ausf. B form, check against the designation on the box of the kit, because the range also offers other variants of the same machine.
When gluing, go by the instructions from the manufacturer and try the glue first in a place that is not very visible. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, degrease them and let them dry. Cut off the excess material and the traces of manufacture with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest away. Lay the ladder against the model dry before painting and adjust the angle at which it leans so that it stands stably and the upper end reaches where it should. Paint the figure separately from the machine and join them only at the end, otherwise the lower parts will be hard to reach.
