This item is not a vehicle kit but an accessory to one. It is a resin set of idler wheels for the Pz.III family of vehicles in 1:35 scale from the brand ELEFANT. According to the name the set is intended for one vehicle and is cut for the MiniArt kit. The base kit and other parts are not included in the package.
The idler wheel is the rear wheel of the running gear, over which the track runs and by which its tension is set. On injection-molded parts the shape of the spokes, the lightening holes and the edges tends to be simplified because of the way the mold divides. A resin casting allows sharper edges and a more readable surface, so after the change the running gear looks more believable. The change has to be planned for the start of the running gear assembly, that is before the tracks are fitted and the hull is closed up.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the remains of mold release agent are removed, because otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a modeling saw and level the area with a file; sand resin wet if possible and protect your breathing. It is glued with super glue, as ordinary cement for plastic does not work on resin. Before painting put a primer on, then the base shade, and finally work with washes and pigments, because it is precisely on the wheels and tracks that patina shows most and decides the final impression. Before gluing them in, check dry that both the axle and the spacing fit the running gear of your kit.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package. Check the match with the particular kit you are building before buying.
