The model 1902/1930 gun is an upgrade of the older Russian 76.2 mm divisional three-incher. The modifications of the early 1930s concerned above all the barrel, which was lengthened and gave the weapon greater range, and also the sighting equipment. In this form the gun stayed in Soviet service and was still fighting in the first years of the Second World War, before newer types gradually replaced it.
This is an unglued and unpainted plastic kit in 1:35 scale. A gun is smaller than a vehicle but more intricate: the barrel, the cradle, the shield and the split trail are separate parts that have to be brought together in one plane, otherwise the model does not stand correctly. The exact number of parts and the extent of the package are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Put the assembly together dry first and fix the position with glue only once it is verified. Hold the thin parts of the carriage and the shield with tweezers so that they do not bend, and clean them up carefully so that the fine edges are not lost. Apply the paint in thin coats; choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the paint manufacturer's directions on the bottle. Accent the shadows in the intricate surface with a dark glaze, and the fine edges, by contrast, with a dry brush.
The set suits modelers interested in Soviet artillery and completes a scene that is missing a weapon to go with the infantry or a prime mover in the same scale. Paints, glue and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
