An extensive plastic kit of the Russian mobile S-300V surface-to-air missile system, specifically the 9A85 vehicle, in 1:35 scale from the company Trumpeter. It is a large vehicle on a tracked chassis carrying four large surface-to-air missiles. The package offers over a thousand parts including individual track links, photo-etched parts and copper cable; the finished model measures around 30 cm.
The S-300V is a Russian mobile surface-to-air missile system on a tracked chassis, developed to destroy ballistic and cruise missiles, strategic and tactical aircraft and early warning aircraft. In the West it is known under the designation SA-12 (Gladiator/Giant). The 9A85 vehicle serves as the launcher and loader element of the system, carrying and quickly replenishing four surface-to-air missiles. The tracked chassis gives the system high cross-country mobility.
On this extensive kit, set time aside for the individual track links and the richly detailed chassis - finish and paint the running gear before you close the hull up. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate; use the copper cable for realistic cable runs. Apply a primer and the base shade with an airbrush (typically Russian green). Create the weathering with washes and pigments for dust and mud; the large missiles and the launcher offer room for fine wear and lettering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
