This is a complete detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber, not a model of a vehicle. The package joins fine photo-etched frets with turned metal parts and wire sections for a model of the German tank destroyer Sd.Kfz. 173 Jagdpanther in the form of the early production series. With the metal you replace the engine compartment grilles, the fenders, the tool brackets, the mounts and other small fittings, for which plastic is too thick for the scale.
The Jagdpanther was a German tank destroyer of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Panther tank. In a fixed, steeply sloped superstructure it carried an 88 mm anti-tank gun with a long barrel, which was among the most effective weapons of its day. The combination of the good mobility of the Panther chassis and the exceptional penetrating power of the gun made it a respected machine. Vehicles of the early series differed from later ones above all in the form of the gun collar, the arrangement of the hatches and details of the engine compartment.
Trim the parts off the fret with a sharp knife, bend them on a photo-etch bending tool or along a ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the metal and go over it with a primer. The sloped surfaces of the superstructure are clearly visible, so it pays to give attention to clean joints and to removing any remains of glue.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
