The BMPT Terminator is a Russian tank support fighting vehicle. It came about on the chassis of a main battle tank and its task is to cover tanks against infantry and against anti-tank weapons in built-up areas and in broken terrain, that is, where a tank on its own is most vulnerable. From that comes the make-up of its armament as well: in place of one large gun it carries a pair of quick-firing cannons of 30 mm supplemented with automatic grenade launchers.
In the set there are four turned barrels: two for the 2A42 cannons of 30 mm and two for the AG-17D grenade launchers of the same caliber. The cannon barrels are long and slender, and it is parts like these that give trouble in injected plastic. They come about from two halves, so a lengthwise join is left on them, they tend to be slightly bent and their muzzle is only suggested. A turned metal part is straight, clean around its circumference and its muzzle is genuinely drilled.
Try the seating of a barrel dry first and, as needed, widen the opening in the mantlet carefully, so that the part does not sit crooked. Metal joins with plastic using cyanoacrylate glue; cement for polystyrene will not help here. Before painting, wash and degrease the barrels and paint them with a base coat, or the finish will not hold on smooth metal. Check both pairs of barrels against each other, so that they point parallel.
A set of barrels is supplied. The model of the vehicle, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
