What the set is for

A scenic accessory for building a small scene in 1:35 scale on the theme of leaves. It is intended for a diorama and for bases, that is, for the places where a figure or a piece of equipment is to stand in a setting and not on a bare board. The range it belongs to builds on one striking motif around which the scene is put together. A scene can therefore be built even without an extensive diorama, on an area the size of a palm.

How to work with it

First lay the scene out dry: arrange the items on the base, put the figure or the vehicle beside them and only then choose where each thing goes. It proves worthwhile to work from the base upward, that is, the terrain and the surface first, then the growth and finally the small details. Leaves come across naturally when the shades differ slightly between individual spots and when the areas are not arranged regularly.

Tips for painting and fitting

• Wash and degrease the items before painting; the paint then holds better.
• Apply the paint in thin coats, so that the fine shapes are not flooded.
• Mix the shades, as a uniform green looks artificial on a model.
• Attach the items with liquid glue and correct the position until the glue sets.
• It is advisable to fix a finished scene with varnish, as otherwise the small parts come loose.
