This item is not a kit of a vehicle, but a casting of an accessory in its own right. It represents a wooden box carried on the German Pz.Kpfw. III medium tank in the Ausf. L to N versions and is designated as type 1. The surface has a modeled wood texture, so that after painting it looks like a nailed-up plank and not like a smooth block. The manufacturer makes several differently shaped types within the same line, so a varied stowed load can be put together on one vehicle.
The Pz.Kpfw. III was a German medium tank of the Second World War, whose later Ausf. L and M versions carried a long-barreled 5 cm gun, while the Ausf. N received a short 7.5 cm barrel intended for infantry support. These versions were produced in 1942 and 1943 and used to be supplemented with side protective skirts. The crews commonly lashed wooden boxes with personal belongings and materiel onto the hull and the sides, because there was no room for them inside.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water, cut the casting block off with a saw and sand the surface with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wood is painted in layers: a light sand base, over it a glaze spread along the grain, a dark wash in the joints and a dry brush in a lighter shade on the edges. It is a good idea to paint the box separately away from the model and glue it on only at the end, otherwise it is hard to reach it with a brush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
