Responsibility details are not available.
The product belongs among the accessories to models of large warships. In 1:350 scale the aircraft measures barely four centimeters across the span, so it is not built as a standalone aircraft model — it serves to fill the flight deck, the elevators and the hangar. The parts have a color finish from the factory, which with objects this small shortens the work fundamentally: without the factory finish every aircraft would have to be masked and sprayed separately.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was the main carrier fighter of the US Navy in the second half of the Second World War. It came about as a robust machine with a radial engine, a wide undercarriage and folding wings, which allowed a large number of aircraft to be stowed in the limited area of a carrier. The design was deliberately built for easy flying and high resistance to damage, which made the Hellcat a type produced in thousands.
Before separating the parts, work out how many aircraft you will need spread around the deck and how many grouped by the superstructure — the arrangement is easier to plan in advance than to reglue. Separate the parts with sharp nippers and sand the remainder of the gate with a fine file, because in this scale even a small remnant of plastic shows as a distortion of the outline. The dark blue naval finish of the Hellcat looks flat, so it pays to lighten the upper surfaces of the wings a little and add a dark wash around the canopy. Finally unify the whole group with matte clear, and only then glue the aircraft to the deck.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
