The set holds several small plastic models of the Grumman TBF Avenger carrier torpedo bomber in 1:350 scale. The little aircraft are pre-painted from the factory and serve to fill the deck of an aircraft carrier model, not as a large standalone model. Decals for later application tend to be included, and some of the pieces allow folded wings for realistic parking.
The Grumman TBF Avenger was an American carrier torpedo bomber deployed from 1942. It was a robust machine with a roomy bomb bay and a defensive turret, which proved itself in attacks on Japanese ships and in the antisubmarine role as well. It operated from the decks of aircraft carriers and became one of the key carrier aircraft of the war in the Pacific.
The pre-painting speeds the finish up, yet it is still worth unifying the shade and bringing the panels out. Separate the small parts with a sharp knife and glue with superglue. Folded wings make it possible to create a realistic deck scene. Apply the decals onto a smooth glossy surface and fix them with matte clear.
The model is supplied unassembled, pre-painted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
