A collector model of the Czechoslovak Tatra 603 in 1:43 scale from the birthday line of the Abrex brand, in black. The model is finished and painted and is supplied assembled and ready for the display case. It is not a kit: it contains no sprues with parts, no glue and no decals, and there is nothing to build. Black is the most typical color for the sestsettrojka and at the same time the most demanding on the surface, because every reflection and every fingerprint shows on glossy dark paint.
The Tatra 603 was built in Koprivnice from the second half of the 1950s to the middle of the 1970s. It was a large six-seat car with an aerodynamically shaped body and an air-cooled V8 mounted at the rear, which was a wholly unusual combination in passenger cars of the day. The car was not sold to ordinary customers; it served state institutions and enterprises and was exported to a lesser extent. During production it went through several changes to the front end and the lighting, by which the individual series can be told apart. The nickname sestsettrojka, meaning six-hundred-three, caught on so well that it is still used today.
Place the model in a closed display case, as dust is harder to remove from fine details than from a smooth body. Use a soft brush for dusting, not a cloth, which leaves fine scratches on glossy paint. Avoid direct sunlight, which changes the shade of the paint and of the plastic parts over time. Pick the model up by the chassis or the roof, not by the mirrors and the wipers. If a base with a cover is part of the package, leave the model in it, as that is also the best protection.
It is a finished collector model, not a kit. The model does not need gluing or painting.
