The Skoda 1100 MBX was a coupe derived from the sedan of the 1000 MB series. The car shared the conception of the whole series, with a liquid-cooled four-cylinder at the rear and rear-wheel drive, but it was given a two-door body of its own with no fixed center pillar. It came about in a small series and today it is among the most valuable civilian cars of the Mlada Boleslav production of the 1960s. The model thus stands for a type whose original most collectors will never see in the flesh.
Light ivory is more rewarding for photography and display than dark paints: it makes no hard highlights and lets the chrome trim, the light surrounds and the line of the windows stand out. At the same time it is more sensitive to yellowing if the model stands in direct sunlight or near a strong halogen for a long time - choose cooler lighting for the display case. Remove dust with a dry soft brush, never with a damp cloth. The model is intended for display, not for play; fine parts such as the wipers and mirrors will take only minimal handling.
