The model of the Skoda 200RS in the competition standard from the Rallye Skoda 1974 is a finished collector's piece, not a kit. It is supplied assembled, painted and with the racing lettering already applied, including the start number 10 and the crew of Sedivy and Janecek — nothing is glued or transferred. Abrex has long devoted itself to collector's models of Czechoslovak cars in 1:43 scale, and competition specials form a range of their own in its catalog.
The Skoda 200RS was a competition special built in the racing department at Mlada Boleslav in the first half of the 1970s. It arose as a prototype, not as a series car: the closed coupe body hid a two-liter four-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts, that is considerably sharper engineering than the carmaker's ordinary production offered. The car started in domestic events and gathered valuable results with works crews, but it never reached large-scale production. That is exactly why the 200RS is among the most sought-after chapters of Czechoslovak motorsport and, in model form, a fixture of collectors' display cases.
The model carries the competition standard from the Rallye Skoda 1974 with the start number 10 and the name of the crew, Sedivy and Janecek. The 1:43 scale is the standard for collector's models of competition cars, so the model goes well with other rally specials in a collection.
This is a finished, assembled and painted collector's model intended for display. It is neither a kit nor a children's toy.
