Nothing is glued, nothing is sprayed; the model is unpacked and put into a display case. The brand Abrex has long devoted itself to models of Czechoslovak and Czech automobiles, that is to subjects that are missing from the usual worldwide range. The color execution of this version is bronze metallic.

The real subject

The Skoda Garde was a two-door coupe derived from the Skoda 105 and 120 range. It kept the layout with a rear-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive, but it was given a body of its own, markedly lower and sportier in conception. It was built in the first half of the 1980s and was among the most attractive cars that could then be bought from domestic production. Today the Garde is a sought-after youngtimer and in model form one of the fixtures of a Czech collection.

Care and display

• Pick the model up by the body, not by the rearview mirrors, the wipers and other fine parts.
• Remove dust with a soft brush or a blower bulb, not with a cloth: on metallic paint fine scratches form easily.
• Do not display it in direct sunlight, as the paint and any plastic parts age faster.
• Keep the original box and base; with collector's models they markedly affect the value.
