A set of photo-etched parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, meant for detailing the exterior of the model of the American ground-attack aircraft A-10 Thunderbolt II in 1:48 scale. The photo-etched parts in thin metal sheet fill out the fine elements of the outer surface, such as covers, grilles, raised features and faces, which come out coarse in plastic. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory for advanced detailing; the basic kit has to be bought separately.
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, nicknamed the Warthog, is an American twin-engine ground-attack aircraft for the direct support of ground units. The whole airframe is built literally around the seven-barrel GAU-8 cannon. Its tough structure, the titanium bathtub protecting the pilot and the ability to operate from improvised strips made it a legend of close air support.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend them in a bending tool. They are best glued with super glue, or with epoxy. Degrease the metal parts before painting and pull a primer over them.
