Eduard 1:48 Adlerangriff: Alte Hasen is a decal set, not a kit. It brings markings for an aircraft model in 1:48 scale on the theme of the air operations over England in the summer of 1940.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a standalone decal sheet from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and not a resin accessory; the set is there so that you can put markings other than those on the sheet in the box onto a model you have already built or have under construction. Eduard prints its decals with an eye to color saturation and a thin carrier film, so once dry the edges remain barely noticeable.
The name Adlerangriff refers to the German air operations over southern England in August 1940, that is to the period of the Battle of Britain. The subtitle Alte Hasen is a period colloquial term for experienced, long-serving pilots. The set therefore follows on from Eduard's range of the same name devoted to the operations of the summer of 1940 and is aimed at the machines of experienced airmen. The specific aircraft type, the number of schemes and the extent of the technical lettering are stated on the box of the set.
Decals are applied onto a gloss surface. A matte varnish has a microscopically broken structure, air is trapped in it under the decal and the result is the so-called silvering effect. The sequence is therefore: paint, gloss varnish, decals, softener, gloss varnish again and only at the end the matte or satin finishing coat. Always cut the sheet close to the motif, leave the decal in lukewarm water only until it releases from the backing, and move it to the model together with the paper. Blot the excess water off with a paper towel and do not run your finger over the decal. On broken surfaces a softener helps, and over rivets and engraved lines so does a light prick with a needle.
This is a decal set, not a model. The kit, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
