A set of HGW wet transfers in 1:48 scale that carries a faithful imitation of the wooden structure of the covering and the plywood areas onto a model. The Pine Tree rendering imitates pine wood grain in a warm, light yellow shade. The set is intended for the Austro-Hungarian Albatros D.III fighter in the Oeffag license version. It is an aftermarket accessory; the model itself is not included in the package.
The Albatros D.III Oeffag was the license version of the German Albatros D.III built by the Austro-Hungarian Oeffag works. The fuselages of period Albatros fighters had plywood covering with pronounced wood grain that is hard to paint on a model. The transfer therefore reproduces a realistic wood pattern ready to be carried onto the surface.
Apply the transfers onto a smooth, glossy and degreased base, preferably in a light beige color, which unifies the ground. Use decal softeners so that the film settles into the shapes. Finally overspray with semi-gloss varnish for the impression of varnished wood.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
