Eduard B-17G Flying Fortress anti-glare panels 1:48 is a masking set for spraying the anti-glare areas of a model of the four-engine bomber, in the shape matching the Douglas Long Beach and Boeing production blocks.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masks from the manufacturer Eduard, intended for spraying the anti-glare areas on a model of the four-engine B-17G bomber in 1:48 scale. These are not glazing masks and not model parts: the templates set out the shape of the dark band that is sprayed over an already finished base coat. This variant matches machines from the Douglas Long Beach and Boeing production blocks.
The matte dark band in front of the cockpit and on the upper surfaces of the engine nacelles was meant to suppress glare into the eyes of the crew. The B-17G was built in parallel at three plants and the shape and extent of these areas differed between production blocks, which is why Eduard offers the masks in several forms. For the model this means that the shape of the panel is one of the recognition features of a particular machine, and an inaccurately drawn band draws the eye immediately.
For modelers who build the large bomber in 1:48 scale and want the anti-glare area in the right shape for the given production block. It will be appreciated above all by those who build from a particular photograph.
This is a modeling accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
