1:48 B-26B-50 Invader painting masks from SX-Art serve for spraying camouflage onto a model of this twin-engined attack bomber. They are not canopy masks. Intended for the ICM kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masks for spraying the camouflage pattern onto a model of the twin-engined Douglas B-26B-50 Invader attack bomber in 1:48 scale. The cut film is laid onto a cured base shade and bounds the areas for the further colors. The set contains no model parts and no decals, and it is not a set of masks for the clear parts either. The target kit is ICM.
The Invader was an American twin-engined attack and bomber aircraft with the crew in the forward fuselage and with radial engines. The original A-26 designation was changed to B-26 in 1948, which is why the same type appears under both abbreviations. It was in the post-war years that machines of this line had their longest career and a series of upgrades.
A model of a twin-engined aircraft has large continuous wing surfaces where a single mask need not cover the whole outline required. Lay the neighboring pieces on with a slight overlap and tape the resulting gaps over with a narrow strip of masking tape. Cover the rest of the airframe that is not to be sprayed with paper or masking putty so that no drifting overspray reaches it. The engine nacelles and their curves are the most sensitive place, so lay the film on there in sections.
The package contains painting masks only. The model, paints and thinner are not part of the delivery.
