The SX-Art set contains self-adhesive stencils for spraying the color areas on a B-26C-50 model in 1:48 scale. The stencils are applied to a cured base and define where the further shade is to go. They are not masks for the cockpit glazing but stencils for painting the surface. The target kit is ICM.
The designation B-26C-50 belongs to a late production batch of the twin-engine attack and light bombing aircraft Invader, which was originally listed as the A-26 and after redesignation carried the designation B-26. Do not confuse it with the twin-engine bomber Marauder, which carried the same number earlier; these are two different machines. The Invader has a slim fuselage, a laminar-flow wing and smooth large areas with a minimum of interruptions.
It is precisely those large smooth areas that are the main theme with this type. A long straight edge of a stencil lifts easily in the middle without your noticing, and the paint creeps under it along its whole length. So it pays to run a blunt tool along the edge over its whole length, not only at the ends, and to begin the spraying with a light mist along the edge itself: the first thin coat seals the edge and a further coat then has no way to run in. If a slight overrun arises even so, it can be repaired by sharpening the line with a fine brush while the paint is fresh.
The package contains masking stencils only. The model, the paints and the airbrush are not part of it.
