Self-adhesive Montex masking stencils for the Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4 and F-4B in 1:48 scale, cut for the Hasegawa kit. They cover the glazing from the outside and add national insignia stencils and a sheet of decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf 109F-4 brought the Friedrich line to the cleanest shape of the whole family: rounded wingtips, deeper radiators and an engine cannon firing through the propeller hub. The F-4/B version carried a rack for a bomb under the fuselage and flew over the Channel as a fighter-bomber. It was precisely this machine that became the measure against which the Allied fighters of 1941 were compared, and in the F-4/Trop form it served over North Africa too.
The glazing of the Friedrich is formed by three separate pieces: the fixed windscreen, the hinged middle cover and the fixed glazing behind the pilot's head. The middle part swings sideways on hinges, so on a finished model it tends to be closed and only its outer surface is in view. The contents of this set match that; the stencils are cut for the outside of the canopy and the frames are sprayed in the color of the upper surfaces of the fuselage.
The film is applied to degreased and dry glazing, pressed down with a wooden stick, and the paint is sprayed in thin coats so that it does not run under the edge. Take the film off while the finish is fresh; the edge will then stay sharp.
