A set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in 1:48 scale intended for masking while a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter is painted. The masks are precisely die-cut from yellow kabuki masking tape, which adapts well to shapes and leaves crisp edges. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory that makes clean spraying of the glazing and other details easier.
The Bf 109G, nicknamed Gustav, was the most widespread variant of the legendary German fighter of the Second World War. The G-6 version, powered by a Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine, was among the most mass-produced of all, and you will recognize it by the characteristic bulges on the engine cowling, which came about with the installation of heavier synchronized armament.
The masks are stuck onto the framing of the canopy and onto the edges of the wheels, and the area is then sprayed with an airbrush. Work on a degreased surface, press the mask against the frames with a toothpick and apply the paint in thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge. Once dry, take the masks off carefully.
This is an accessory (painting masks), not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
