The wet transfers HGW 1:48 Bf 109 G-K – Stencils with technical and warning markings. Once dry, no glossy film is left on the surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of service and warning markings for models of the Bf 109 aircraft of the late G and K series in 1:48 scale. These are not decals in the ordinary sense, but what are called wet transfers: the print is carried over onto the model and the carrier film is then taken off, so that only the marking itself is left on the surface, with no glossy surround.
With a classic decal the carrier varnish gets onto the model as well, and it creates a visible glossy edge around the print. With a large number of small markings that is hard to hide, and on smooth or metal surfaces it practically cannot be removed even with a gloss varnish. A wet transfer gets around this problem, because the film does not stay on the model. The result looks like a marking sprayed through a stencil, which tells at first glance on a machine with a mass of small texts.
Cut the marking you need out, soak it in warm water and wait until the backing paper releases. Place the transfer like an ordinary decal while it can still be moved, and choose the exact position. Then press the water out from under it with a soft cloth and let it dry properly for several hours. Finally take the carrier film off carefully and wash any remains of adhesive off with water. Do not hurry, as taking the film off too soon damages the print.
This is not a model of the aircraft, but an accessory. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
