Photo-etched seatbelts of steel for a model of the bomber Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress is a four-engined heavy bomber with radial engines, one of the main types of the American daylight bombing force during the Second World War. Both the cockpit and the crew stations are well visible on a model, and it is exactly there that the seatbelts are missed most, which a kit as a rule deals with only by suggested relief or not at all.
The set brings seatbelts etched from steel. Steel etching is more pliable than brass and holds its shape better once it is formed, so you can leave a belt convincingly drooping over a seat and it will not return to flat. The range of the set, that is, which places in the cockpit the belts are intended for, is stated in the instructions from the manufacturer.
The parts are held in the fret by thin tabs. Cut them off with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with cutters, as otherwise the end of a belt will bend. Form the transitions of the buckles with tweezers with smooth jaws. They are glued with super glue applied in a minute amount on the tip of a toothpick. Degrease the parts before painting; on smooth metal the paint will not hold otherwise.
The set of photo-etched parts is supplied on its own. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
