AML painting masks for the Bristol Blenheim Mk.I in 1:48 scale — camouflage scheme B. Masks for an accurate spraying of the mirrored British pattern onto the twin-engine bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
Painting masks from the Czech manufacturer AML for a model of the Bristol Blenheim Mk.I light bomber in 1:48 scale, made according to the British camouflage scheme B. Pattern B is the mirrored counterpart of the more common pattern A, so on a model it looks fresh while remaining historically correct. The masks save you the hardest part of the job: carrying the complicated division of the brown and green fields onto the large surfaces of a twin-engine aircraft.
In the second half of the 1930s the Bristol Blenheim Mk.I was one of the fastest bombers in the world, an all-metal low-wing monoplane with Mercury radial engines that outpaced even the fighters of the day. By the start of the Second World War, however, it had lost its speed advantage and its crews paid a high price for being used on daylight raids. It also flew as a night fighter and served in a number of countries, Finland among them.
On a large model it pays to stick the masks on in sections: the fuselage first, then each wing half separately. Press the overlaps of film on the leading edges down first and smooth the rest out toward the tips. Spray thin coats at lower pressure and lift the masks off while the paint is not yet fully cured.
These are painting masks, an accessory for painting. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
